Research Introduction
Research by faculties and students in the Computer Industry Laboratory
has been carried out in the fields of both basic computer science and
industrial applications, such as Signal processing, Simulation
engineering, Functional Safety, Artificial Intelligence, Web service,
Semantic Web, Web data mining, e-Business application, Management
Strategy of Electric Utilities, and Energy Economics. The detailed
information about research activities by faculties is as follows:
Shigeru Kanemoto, Professor
- Before coming to Aizu, Prof. Kanemoto was engaged in
research of intelligent system and robotics development for supporting
operation and maintenance safety of nuclear power plants. Here, he has
been studying basic software technologies such as dynamics system
analysis and system identification, signal and image processing methods
or inverse problem solving methods. He is also interested in social
technology research for making social consensus and safe/reliable
society.
- Research Fields:
- Singal procesing for plant monitoring and control
- Dynamical system indentification and analysis
- Inverse problem solving for Non-destructive evaluation
- Multi-Agent simulation
- Electric power exchange market simulation
- Traffic simulation for emergency response management
- Functional safety of embedded system
Incheon Paik, Associate Professor
- Dr. Incheon Paik received the M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in
Electronics Engineering from Korea University in 1987 and 1992,
respectively. During 1993-2000, he worked as an associate professor in
Soonchunhyang university, Korea. From 1996 to 1998, he was a visiting
researcher of State Key Laboratory, Beihang University, Beijing, China.
Also he leaded the Electronic Commerce S/W Research Center (now, ITRC)
funded by the Ministry of Information & Communication during
1999-2001. Now he is an associate professor in the University of Aizu,
Japan.
Research interests include Semantic Web, Web Services, Web Service
Composition, Web Data Mining, Business Process Management and
Integration, e-Business System, Software Component, Security for
e-Business, and Agents on Semantic Web. He is a member of ACM, IEEE,
and IPSJ.
